Intermediate youth cricketers training in the nets with a coach at Revolution Cricket Academy

Intermediate · Ages 8–11

Smash Ball Cricket

Transitioning to hardball cricket with real technical foundations.

The program

Smash Ball is the bridge between playing cricket and training for it. The U11 group marks the beginning of structured cricket training: proper grip, proper stance, proper run-up, and the first sessions with a hard ball and full protective kit.

Players also get their first taste of representing the academy. Coaches form teams for local youth tournaments, so match awareness, rules and team roles become part of every session.

Skill focus

  • Introduction to hardball cricket
  • Technical batting and bowling fundamentals
  • Fielding technique — catching, throwing, footwork
  • Strength, balance and agility work
  • Basic game scenarios and rules
  • Team formation for local youth tournaments

Outcome

Players develop strong fundamentals with growing confidence and readiness for competitive match play.
